Pennsylvania may issue “school climate” requirementsAfter a study showed Pennsylvania schools to be no safer than five years ago, the state school board president said school climate measures might be required of all districts, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. “Clearly, more must be done to change the climate of our schools,” Gerald Zohorchak, Pennyslvania’s Secretary of Education, said. Zohorchak was one of several state school chiefs who attended an October meeting at the US Department of Education to discuss the school climate movement. ISA/Pride Surveys president Doug Hall also attended that meeting and wrote about it in this space on Oct. 28. Is smoking on the rise?
