Clients Tell

Los Alamos Public Schools in New Mexico have used the Pride Survey since 1988. Here is what Georgina Williams has to say:

"The results are proven to be valid and from the data you can convince your audience that the data is real and not random. You also gain recognition as to whether or not your programming is successful. Our community uses the data to secure funding for future programming to fill gaps in services. The information also teaches kids the truth about use among their peers..."

Take Action On Prevention Funding

Your immediate action is needed to maintain funding for important prevention programs. These include funding authorized under:

  • State Grants Portion of the Safe and Drug Free Schools and Communities,
  • Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (Block Grant, CSAT, CSAP),
  • National Institute on Drug Abuse, and
  • National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.

Go to CADCA’s Legislative Action Center today and send a message to your Senators and Representative.

FAQs

Q: I’ve already done this. Do I need to do it again?
A: Yes. The Congressional budget process is just that – a process. At each milestone in the process, your elected officials need to hear from you.

Q: I am a government employee. Can I still contact my elected officials?
A: Yes. Use your home computer and your personal email account.

Q: Do these messages really make a difference?
A: You bet they do. CADCA’s public policy consultant, Sue Thau, says your messages to Congress are responsible for turning back proposed cuts in prevention funding.

Without your perseverance, we might not be able to post the next three items.
